As we promised in our previous post, today we want to tell you about a magical, mysterious place, known as The Cave Monastery from Sinca Veche, The Temple of the Chosen, The Temple of Desires or The Temple of the Aliens.
Whether you believe in energies, healing and paranormal or not, please read further with an open mind. The teasing starts from the beginning, as there is a whole controversy dating the establishment. Some say it was built in the 1700s as a refuge for Orthodox monks, when the Transylvanian churches where torn down one by one on the request of Maria Tereza. Others say it is much older, dating back to the Dacians, when it used to be a temple, but most of the theories takes it back 6000-7000 years ago. The point is, even though specialists tried to come to a conclusion on this matter, they didn’t make a final official statement yet.
As we go deeper into the story, the intrigue gets even more tangled. The temple is entirely carved in hone and no wood or other materials were used. It features five rooms, two of them seemingly like two altars separated just by a wall. In the middle of the temple a flue is carved in the ceiling, reaching outside and the only way natural light gets in. But the most bizarre is the back wall of one of the altars, carved with a silhouette resembling Jesus, a hexagram like the Star of David of Solomon’s Seal and the Yin Yang symbol. No one could explain why this symbols from different cultures with apparently no connection are gathered here, on a 2 square meter stone wall.
Now, the stories around it are the ones that make us wonder what is there, beyond our comprehension, things we don’t know nor understand, as hard as we try to logically explain. It is said miracles happen here, sick people get better, the pure hearted get their wishes come true, invisible children choirs are heard in the woods and cameras go nuts here, starting and stopping randomly or getting misty pictures.
We wish we would understand what is it with this place, but we don’t. Once you step inside the wattle that surrounds the small hill, it seems you passed into another dimension, where the grass is greener, the trees are fairy tale drawn, birds are singing louder and every pebble in place.
Leaving aside the enigma that revolves around it, you should definitely check it out and tell us all about your experience here. Bon voyage!
